Windows is a very impressive and the most used operating system in the world about 90% computers uses the Windows operating system. The reason for too much use of this OS is that it provides its users many features. Now Microsoft has also introduced its best version of Windows that is Windows 10. Windows 10 has all the features which you want on your computer. I also highly recommend you to update to Windows 10 on your computer.

But there is a question! Why we want to shutdown our Windows computer at specific timing?

There are many methods to do so, but here I am going to tell you about two simple and easy methods to shutdown your computer at a specific timing. One is using Notepad trick while the other is Windows Task Scheduler. You must look at both of them.

Shutdown Computer At A Given Time Using Notepad Trick

Open a notepad. To open the notepad go to the start then all programs then accessories and then select notepad. If you cannot understand where is notepad, look at this YouTube video

After the notepad is open copy the below code and paste that into the notepad.

shutdown -s -t 60

Here 60 represents the time in second I have selected the 60 seconds which mean the 1 minute, if you want to increase the shutdown time then you can replace the 60 with following times.

• For 1 minute put 60
• For 5 minutes put 300
• For 30 minutes put 1800
• For 1 hour put 7200

Save to file on your desktop with name Shutdown.bat you can change the name of file according to your desire but the extension (.bat) is necessary.

After naming your file click on Save as Type and select All Files as in below image, that press the Save button. You file has been saved on your desired location.

To shutdown the computer just click onto that file. Your computer will be shutdown at the specified time which you set in step No. 3.

Once the Task Scheduler is opened click on Create Basic Tasks option at the right menu panel.

You will be asked When do you want the task to start? you can select any option according to your requirement but if you ask me then I will say choose One Time and click on Next button.

On the Program/script  field type shutdown and –s –f –t 0 in Add Arguments field, here 0 (zero) mean 0 second, you can also replace it with any number like 600 seconds so your computer will be shutdown after 600 seconds which is equal to 10 minutes.

After a while, we suddenly realize that we forget to shutdown our office of personal computer and then we fear that our data can be leaked. In the end, we face problems.
